Recognize the affected function
- A heating zone responds intermittently.
- Controls do not recognize a normal setting.
- Heat output differs noticeably between zones.
- One burner or zone will not turn on.
- Ignition keeps clicking after normal use.

A useful detail for this request
Gas, radiant electric and induction surfaces use different systems. Include the heating type if known; do not assume that no heat always means an element.
From observation to diagnosis
Testing is adapted to the appliance and reported behavior. The items below guide the inspection; they are not a promise that a particular component needs replacement.
- The affected zone and selected setting
- Ignition or electrical heating behavior
- Controls and safety responses
- Installation access and visible condition
Find the right starting point
An intermittent issue is worth describing in sequence: which zone, the selected setting and what happens next. Do not repeat a hazardous fault to capture it.
Gas ignition, electric radiant heat and induction use different systems. Identify the type rather than assuming that every no-heat complaint has the same repair.
Identify the appliance type before selecting a service. A separate cooktop and a range need different request descriptions even if both have a burner problem.
Prepare without dismantling
Stop using the affected zone and let the surface cool. Do not bypass controls or lift the cooktop out. If you smell gas, leave the area and contact the gas utility or emergency services from a safe location.
From request to an agreed repair
The service process has a clear decision point: diagnosis first, approval second. Ask about the scope, parts and price before authorizing work.
The diagnostic/service call is $95 and is credited toward an approved repair. An itemized repair price is agreed after diagnosis and before work. Genuine OEM parts are used. Same-day and emergency appointments depend on schedule and location.
Parts, warranty and scope
1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty covers parts installed and labor performed under normal use. It excludes new unrelated faults, misuse, power surges and work performed by others after the service visit.
Genuine OEM parts are used. This is independent service, with no claim of manufacturer endorsement.
Helpful answers
Before you arrange service
Should I remove the glass or burners?
Do not dismantle the appliance for diagnosis. Safe access and any necessary disassembly are part of the technician’s work.
Is a cooktop request different from range service?
Yes. Choose cooktop for a separate cooking surface. A combined oven and cooking surface is a range.
Does induction use the same repair process as gas?
No. The technician adapts diagnosis to the heating system. Include the appliance type when describing the problem.
